I ordered fender holders made by Taylor Made for my 44 DB and the J hooks that attach to the railing are too small for my 1 1/8 inch railing. I am looking for a vendor that can provide the fender holders with the proper sized J hooks? We are new to a boat this size and trying to learn about available resources.

I have the same issue at 1-1/4". I use these, so far they have held up well after almost two years use.

In addition to Amazon, Defender Marine is a great source for boating odds and ends....

Thank you for the responses. I was referring to the fender holders that are used when the fenders are NOT deployed. That is the 'storage' fender holders. The J hooks that are designed to attach to my railing are too small. I believe I found a special order source through West Marine that can supply the larger J hooks.

Yes, that is the style with 9" to 11", but the J hooks that attach to the railing are too small to fit 1-1/8" railing.

I use the Taylor Made "Tidy-Ups". Had them on the 380 and now on the 44 Sedan Bridge. My wife likes them as we go from rafting up with the fenders at the gunnel height to docks at water level. She finds them easy to use and move around.

FAF, are you on the 420/44 Sedan Bridge forum? Lots of good stuff there!

Cheers!

See post 6 :)

Gotcha, storage not adjusters...

I absolutely despise fender holders. Hate the look. Like wingtip shoes. I recognize their are differing opinions, but those are clearly wrong.

Having said that... Skybolt, your profile pic is so good, I never noticed you had them. I LOVE the look of that 460. That is EXACTLY what an Express cruiser should look like. There may be differing opinions on this as well, but they would also be wrong.

But I do think if you took those fenders off the rail, it might qualify as the best looking powerboat of all time.

I also hate the look, but four 12” fenders always seem to be in the way. Been tripping over them all way from FL to MD, so I might be back on board with the holders.

Couldn’t find a storage spot that was out of the way but also easily accessible by the “crew”.

Wow! I am speechless, for a change, thank you very much!
