Faulty O2 Sensors BAD PROBLEM with MERC! Anyone ELSE?????

Thanks Tim... We are very excited to get our 2013 280 .. We loaded it up with EVERY option they offered being we got the boat at cost.. AC Heat .. Bow thruster.. Maple Flooring .. 8.2 Big Block SeaCore FWC with Digital throttle.. ETC ETC.. thanks for your good wishes!

Glad I was able to lead you to a sucessful ending. Have that marina owner get in touch with me, have a lot more fixes.

Hello I have a friend with a 2012 370 twin 8.2 s he also had issues with his 02 sensors I was told by my mechanic that the 02 sensor issue is not any engine prodimanent it is across all mercruiser engines. And there is no way to know which engines will be affected. Just thought I'd pass it along.

Could you either post again that picture or explain what is point A and what is point B? Im currently working on a 2009 Searay with a merc 5.0 MPI ECT and the only mercury dealer here in Puerto Vallarta told the customer that he will have to live with the o2 sensor fault code on the Smartcraft gauges and the beeping because that engine was not supposed to be sold here because of fuel octane ratings but Im pretty sure they are just trying to avoid having to provide warranty to the customer. they already replaced all 4 O2 sensors and the problem went away for a while but a couple of weeks or months later the problem came back. Customer told me they replace one of the exhaust manifolds back in 2009 or 2010. I would appreciate any inputs

FYI, I have a merc 350 with Bravo 3 / 2011 Sundancer 260 and recently had the same Oxygen sensor issue. Our dealer replaced the riser without issue. We have an extended warranty on the boat (per dealer not covered) but he stated it was just outside the 2 year warranty on the motor. They said mercruiser would cover it anyway.

Ok, our dealer is READY to take our boat back... They have been to US 3 times in 3 weeks! As of now ALL 4 O2 sensors have been replaced with NEW ones! Now one of the 1st new ones they changed has gone bad again! So its not like a Merc installed fautly sensros from the factory! Now one of the dealer installed sensors just went bad yesterday! It lasted about a week!!!! Bought this boat brand NEW 3 weeks ago and the dealer has been back 3 times! We went back to the dealer yesterday and he said use the boat for the weekend, if it happens again this weekend he will take the boat back! Thats all and great and he wants to put me into a 2011 280 Sundancer! From what I am told the dealer has SEVERAL BOATS with this same issue!!!! So why would I want to get a 2011 280 Dancer pay them the difference ( 24,000 ) and that boat have the SAME dam issues! Now Ive spent 24,000 and still in the same situation! My wife has been on with a supervisor at MERC and he has been working with the dealer! They are aware of this issue and told her there is NO FIX to the problem as of yet! But they are working on it! I really dont want to give back our boat its ALL Set up with electronics Lights etc etc... So I think we will MAKE them give us an extended warranty for 5 years for FREE so at least we have a clear head that if this keeps happening we wont have to pay for this... Our boat only came with a ONE year warranty! Has anyone else out there been going through O2 sensors every week??? Merc thinks its the height of the risors and manifolds causing this issue! They may have to change the risors to lower ones! I will keep you all posted here and let you all know what is going on !

There is no reason to end every sentence with multiple exclamation points. It makes the post hard to read. We get the frustration.
