Hi Team,

I feel like this page is a whole team since we help each other out. . . The other day on Saturday i got a warning beep and a message that read on my smart craft gauge "Fault Water Pressure Sensor" the reading on the smart craft for water psi shows 0.0 but when i start driving i can see the analog gauge move up and down. Engine temp did not go higher than 141 so no overheating on engine.

Pics shown are start from being at idle to low rps to being on plane

does anyone know how does this sensor look and where can i buy it i did call a local marina shop and they have it and it was about $160. OR is this even a sensor issue or something more critical?

What year is your boat? What drive? Hard to say what exactly you need without that info, but I’m guessing you have a stern drive, so it’s likely going to be on the water pump underneath your engine. Look for something with a wiring harness plugged into it. They look like this:

Hii @M Prod its 2004, 350 MAG the engine info is to the under my profile picture of the boat, can you send me that link?

On my 2004 it was in the raw water pump. Also I believe the gauge you are referencing in your pictures is the engine oil pressure - not water pressure that you would see on the smartcraft.

Here is a picture of my pump - we just had a similar discussion on the 340 forum. You can see the sensor on the outlet side (lower).

I *think* this is what you need but not 100%. If I were you I’d get down there and pull the sensor and get a part number off it.

Actually lists as 2006 there, so maybe not. Again if you want my advice, check the sensor that’s there and replace it with that one. I’m sure if you google the part # a host of search results will provide you with both OEM and aftermarket (cheaper) options.

It's best to familiarize yourself with all the symbols in use. Not knowing what is being indicated can result in disastrous results.

The symbols are all described in your owners manual. Here is a screen shoot from my 2004 340SDA manual.

...Actually lists as 2006 there, so maybe not. ...

An online lookup of Mercruiser parts or even call to Merc support with your Engine Serial numbers will get you the proper part number. You must reference my S/N. Our discussion over on the 340 forum showed a difference in sensor locations between the 2004 and 2005. (@M Prod - you have the easier one).
