Has anyone heard of or had experience using Fantastic on gelcoat? I saw a family giving their entire exterior gelcoat surface a nice wipe down with the stuff after pulling their boat out (trailerable). I didn't get a chance to talk to him about the why's and benefits. I have heard of using it on vinyl but never gelcoat.

I wipe down with Griot's SpeedShine and highly recommend it.

I'd be scared to use Fantastik as I think it contains solvents.

there was a article in SR Living about the use of household/toilet cleaners on boats.... it said not to.... but it seems many folks still do. I feel bad for their gel coat. Dave you hit the nail on the head sir.

I use Fantastik on stubbon stains and then rewax the areas I clean. I don't need it very often but keep a spray bottle on the boat. It does no damage, but it does completely strip the wax. If you look at the Black Stripe Remover boat products they are very similar in smell and appearance to Fantastic. Might be interesting to read the labels side by side. In any event, you will not damage your boat. I've used it for many years and the gel coat still looks great.
