I think I may have screwed up my original post so I'm reposting here. Apologies for a double post if it does as I can't find my original. Does anyone have any feedback on the best time to head up the CT river for fall foliage? I've also been told that we should stay in Hamburg's cove. Who's done this and what's your suggestions as far as spending the night on the hook, mooring, or Marina?

Where are you coming from? Hamburg cove would be nice. You'll want to check when the moorings are pulled, as they tend to come out sooner than you'dyou'd expect. If you want a slip, I'd recommend Brewer's Essex Island Marina.

The best time foliage wise abuts the end of the boating season, say middle to end of Oct. I'd say look for a good window as late as practically possible, and enjoy no matter what.
