Couple years ago we had a group go on a trip to the Exumas and I was wondering if anyone would want to do that again? I know the economy is not the greatest and it may be a little early to start this discussion but thought maybe I would put it out there anyway.

FL to Bimini 48miles
bimini Nassau I thin is 120 miles , I will check that. If needed a stop in Chub can be made but I think the fuel there is real expensive and they have problems with power from time to time from I have heard.
nassau to exumas about 40-50 miles depends on where you go. Last trip the guys spend a bunch of time on the hook from what I remember, 2-3 days running generator. I will get more accurate info and put it up here.

I'm interested. Fuel seems like the biggest logistics consideration. I hold 225 gals of gas. What time of year? What speed do you travel? Customs? Etc, etc.

Hey Tom/Trit21, Some of us gassers would be interested if you make a fuel stop in Chub , that's the only leg of the trip I would be concerned with unless we stop in Chub for fuel. Keep us posted on plans, was thinking of going over with the Bahamas Boating Fling also.

Right now I really don't have plans just putting feelers out. We are probably moving our boat to Ft. pierce Jan or Feb of next year (2013) and will do a couple of trips to Bimini, West End. Want to be closer to dolphin fishing and a change of scenery to So. Fl is going to be a pleasant change. Right now getting all my maintenance done, paint hull and bottom paint, underwater lightship etc so once I e completed that I will be back to planning a trip. Any more ideas or anyone that wants to go please chime in and lets see if we can get something going for a fun Bahamas trip.

We took the big boat to Port Lucaya and then to Bimini a few months ago. I would be interested in a trip back to Bimini in the 280. We really enjoyed Bimini!

I prefer Bimini over Lucaya too. Haven't been to West End in a while but not much there. Maybe we should start a Bimini Trip Thread!

Well, let's do it then!!! Start packin' Donnie, Randy is the Bimini Veteran!!!

I'll be in Great Exuma at the Sandals Emerald Bay in April. Does that count?
