Does anyone know how or where you can install external speakers for the salon TV in my 320, when we are watching TV, the sound is very Tinnie sounding, no base from such a small TV. I don't believe it's hooked up in conjunction with the Stereo, that would be sweet though, I'm looking to just install small satelitte speakers in the bed.

As a thought, if the tv has external speaker jacks and if you can run wiring to the stereo, just connect it to the stereo. Not knowing the layout of your boat this might not be something you can do.

I don't think there's anything hooked up to the the TV's "Out" lines. Since the tuner is in the set itself, there's currently no way for the signal to be routed from the TV.

That being said, take a look at the back of your TV. Mine is fairly accessable. Look for lines out, or "speaker-out" connections. If you have the one on the wall, I don't know about its connections. You may have to take it down.

Anyway, if there's a place to take the speakers out, simple RCA connections and speaker wire should do the trick. The next problem would be routing the wires, and, finally, the control of the sound. Generally, when you connect external speakers, it's an all or nothing thing. Either the internal speakers are on or the external ones are. Sometimes there's even a switch on the back to select one or the other.

I had an FM Modulator on my 260 - tied in the stereo to the TV. It worked great.

Midway's idea is a good one. Take the line out to the stereo, or use an FM modulator like skolbe said. There's a number of ways to get 'er done.

OK . . . correction . . . an audio line out is not for speakers and would not have the power to run speakers.

Allmost no small tv's have a speaker jack or left/right speaker jacks. Headphone jack is something common.

If you have a set of audio out jacks a simple and inexpensive solution would be a small set of speakers that hook up to computer systems. Many of those systems will have a small sub as well. These media speakers also hook up through a headphone jack that is common on small tv's.

You other choice is to have a professional hard wire in a line out on you small tv or just replace it with new technology.

Great Idea

HIFI, that is a great Idea, see this is why I use this Forum, because many times I have Sh_t for brains and can't remember what would be the best idea... and you, certainly have the greatest and most easiest solution.

I have several sets of computer speakers available to use, now I just have to get to the Boat, Ahhh that won't be until this spring, only 40 more days to got though.

I think those kind of speakers require an outside power source, so be ready for that too.
