Does anyone else have a searay with an extended hydraulic swimplatform that lacks a swim ladder? Planning to add one by running 3x2 inch aluminum box channels running fore and aft attached to the fiberglass support stringers running port to starboard under the swimplatform deck? Would like to keep top deck area clear but also concerned about folded ladder dragging below the waterline during acceleration.
Has anyone encountered this?

I had to add ladder on my tnt lift. I did it underneath as you mentioned. I’ll get some pics for you. I put mine on starboard side. I was also concerned about forgetting to put up and secure before getting underway but has not been an issue yet

Here,s rough pic of my beginning design work. The black outline is of the platform under surface. The two molded in cross supports are on the right and in the center and are about 2 1/2 inches wide. The aft edge of the platform is on the left with the actual ladder and a template of the mounting holes shown.
McMaster Carr sells 3 inch tall aluminum box channels that could run either between the two molded in supports or from the aft edge to the first support seen in the center. That would put the top of the ladder assembly about 4 to 5 inches below the bottom of the deck which should be about right so long as it doesn't drag in the water. Need to get back to the boat to try to confirm all that.
