When the boat was out of the water I replaced the trim tab actuators and added the NMEA 2000 kit (NMEA1) so the trim tab positions could be displayed on the network.
Now that it is completely integrated with the NMEA network, the device is recognized by the displays (Vessel View 7, Raymarine E120's, and Maretron DSM410 as "Lowrance Trim Tab" however the displays will not communicate with the trim tab module for calibration and nothing is displayed. I have ran the calibration sequence several times on the Maretron DSM410 with the message that it cannot communicate.....
Any experience on this?
Thanks
Tom

Update - I was able to execute the trim tab calibration in the Vessel View 7 system and the trim tab positions show correctly on that display. Was also able to get the trim tab data to show on the Raymarine E120 chart plotters. The Maretron DSM410 display is still MIA with the trim tabs.

Do you have the NMEA/Smartcraft gateway to enable the NMEA data from the tab sensors to show on the VesselView?

Yes it's integral with the Vessel View 7; there is a NMEA 2000 port on the back of the display.

Did you replace your factory VesselView from 2006 with a newer VesselView 7, or are you saying the the VesselView that came with the boat in 2006 has an NMEA input port?

Replaced original in 2017 with the VV7.

Thanks, I figured it was something like that. It would have been too easy for my VesselView to have a NMEA 2000 port
