Sunday, I decided to replace my stern anchors with nice, light- weight ones. I decided on Fortress FX-11's.

I ordered them Sunday afternoon. They're here today (Tues AM)

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I ordered them at Online Marine dot com. The price was over 20% less than one big store, and over 30% less than the other!

They are running a special on DHL overnight. At the time, I didn't know about the special, so I didn't even ask for it, but was hoping I'd have them by the weekend. They must have decided it was cheaper and faster, so they sent them DHL.

Fantastic service, thanks!

 Isn't it great when something good happens and your not expecting it!

Isn't kind of sad that good service is so rare nowadays that we are blown away when we experience it?!
Thanks for the tip. I like recommendations like this.

True, so true.

Guys, check 'em out. I really believe in positive reinforcement, so, send your business their way.

I'm going to make another order in time for the weekend! Is that insane or what?

Ok I've been boating all my life and have only used 2 anchors at once maybe a handful of times....but typically only one. Usually it's when we're rafting and near a beach. I have never heard of stern anchors beeing a normal part of the gear. I assume in Fl you use them frequently on the sand bars and so forth. Is that correct?

If so, have you heard of the sand spike?

I drop anchor near shore all the time so I carry a second anchor to keep the boat in one spot.

I am in SE GA and anchor backed in to the beach and have to use bow and stern anchors to keep the boat in one place, it is the only way when anchored sideways to the water flow and a 4 to 6 mph current is either coming in or going out, we have a 6 to 9 foot tide swing here and the current gets strong, if just anchored in the river then usually only use one anchor.

We also use a second anchor to hold us close to a beach or sandbar -OR- if everyone else in the anchorage is using two anchors. Plus, it never hurts to have a second anchor available for Lord-only-knows-why.

In that regard, I am a HUGE Fortess fan! Small, light, strong, excellent holding power. Outstanding product!

Yes - We're in Fl and we frequently line up about 20 med - large Sea Rays within 10 - 15 ft of eachother. With shifting winds and currents, and staying over 1 or 2 nights, having 2 stern anchors is a must.

Having 2 matching, beautiful stern anchors is a bonus - style points. Many see your boat, but everyone sees your anchors.

Also, I stopped by Boater's World yesterday to pick up a couple of matching white, plastic-coated anchor chains and SS shackles (proper name?) to make the connection.

Now, I can anchor in style. And to think most people think that a newer, bigger boat is what it's all about - Ha! : )

Yeah, I'm a lake boater so I don't have to deal with currents. Because of the relatively high "sail area" of my 260DA, she wanders all over the place in any kind of breeze. I almost always have to use a sand spike or stern anchor to avoid any close encounters.............

Two orders in One Week

OK - My wife wants a grill, so we ordered a Magma from the same place with the overnight shipping. If we have it for the weekend, I'm completely sold.

If not, they're back to average. I'm betting it'll be a fattening trip.
