Engine starts then stops

Went down to the boat today and started the port engine. After 5-10 seconds, the alarm went off and the moter stopped. When the alarm went off, it gave me two beeps. I checked the oil reserve for the outdrive, oil in the engine and loose wires. Right now I am at a loss as to what should be checked next. Any ideas would be apprecated.

It's hard to say without a scanner to check codes set by the ECM. It might be your sea water impeller if the ECM is checking water pressure like it does on boats like mine. If the impeller fails then the pump can't build up enough pressure and the ECM recognizes that. But all of this is strictly a guess. I would suggest you get a tech with a scanner to look at it.
