Engine sound bad

The last two times we went out the engine sounds very rough and feels like it's not going the same speed at 3,300 rpm that it use to. All gauges have been reading ok when cruising. Oil pressure(if I remember correctly) was 40-50. Guess I'll have the marina mechanic take it for a test drive but is there anything basic I can check/troubleshoot on my own.

Btw when I had a mechanic look over the boat after I bought it he said the engine sounded like it was running a little crappy and might need a tune up. When I had the survey the guy did a compression and check the plugs and showed them to me and they were all new so idk of a tune up would help.

someone suggested checking these:

the dist. cap and wires new plugs gapped,set timing,adjust the carb mixture screws and do the filters then go from there.

some of the items I've not the slightest clue where to begin. Thanks

Actually from my dad...

i am lucky...but is anyone when it comes to boating??? That's a name I would not put on my boat.
