Engine Room Hatch problems on my 410DA

@Lazy Daze - I'm not near my boat, I'm just going by memory. I think the lines go from the bottom of the pump and I didn't see them in the picture.

Re the T, could be.... Clearly not a sys I'm familiar with. I would say, if there is nothing physically stopping those rams from coming down, I would be concerned that a fluid leak could injure someone or trap them in there. I'm a bit less concerned with the worm drive, but perhaps I'm wrong..

BG - The lines definitely all come out of the top section (see his other pic for reference). I was curious if you were able to see things (zoom in) better than I as and maybe saw something else.

I agree with your thoughts on the leaking down. As mentioned above, a physical support bar would be smart idea. I don't think it's going to leak down "all of a sudden", but better safe than sorry. Maybe also make sure you have your phone with you so you can call for help! ;)

You are correct in that a catastrophic hydraulic leak would result in the hatch rapidly coming down. I don't think there are any safety mechanisms in the system that would prevent the movement.

Not sure when and where SR started installing them, but my '09 has a physical support designed for this purpose installed on the forward portion of the hatch bottom. It swings down and rests in the deck trough when the hatch is up.

Kinda have to assume something bad happened at some point...

Finally found the problem. When fully retracted, the two rods were sliding together so that they bound up and did not have the power to lift the hatch. I put spacers between them so that they are about 3.5 inches apart and secured the whole assembly with nuts. Now works like a charm! Thanks everyone for your suggestions!
