Where do i find an engine surveyor? Are there specific people that do nothing but survey engines or do I hire a mechanic instead????? Thank youo in advance.
There are surveyors that just do boats, and there are some that will do the engines too. You need to call around to find one that does both. A good engine surveyor will hook up a computer to the wiring harness and get the readings from the motors computer. An engine oil analysis is always helpful on older motors. Most surveyors will be able to recommend a good engine surveyor if they don't do it themselves.
