where can I get a engine manual for a 1988 350 merc bluewater inboard?? Is it the same manual for the I/O engines?

There's not much interesting in the manual. I have one here -- somewhere -- for my 1987 350 sterndrive boat that I once owned. Can't find it, but I did find some other interesting stuff on my book shelves including a genuine Beagle Brothers poster of peeks, pokes, and calls for Apple DOS 3.3, my ticket, booklet, and Order of the Mass for John Paul II's 1995 visit to NYC, and the original sales brochures for my 1994, '96, and 98 Mark VIIIs, Navigator, and also the Sea Ray Sport Cruiser brochure for 1999. Maybe next time I look on my shelves I'll find that engine operator's manual.

Have your tried the Mercruiser website? Or you can call them. They are very helpful. You need the serial number for your engine.

Get the shop manual, not the engine owners manual. It's available from Merc. Make sure to state your serial number so you get the right application. Mine covers both the sterndrives engines and the MIE.
