Engine data fox-marine pre smart craft

I did this recently on my 99 460da with Volvo diesels. Hooked to my Garmin 7212 using a plug n play unit from YachtDevices. Very simple installation and I am very pleased with the additional engine data.

Has anyone tried the livorsi version? Looks to be a comparable product.

Fox Marine gateways are for MEFI-1 thru 4
They are designed to hop onto any NMEA2000 backbone.
Smartcraft is a whole different animal than MEFI. The inline gateway is not the same
The product brochure on the brick gateway is a dead link.
Fox has Bluetooth diagnostic displays. About 75% of a RINDA Scan Tool. It can't control the ecm, it just listens
I was one of the main beta testers for the gateways a few years ago. I use 2 ST70 mfds as dedicated engine displays
This means that I had to build a NMEA2000 to Raymarine STng backbone connector.

I also want to add th fox interfaces. How difficult is the setup. I understand you have to configure the dip switches.

Not necessarily. Depends on your engine setup. If you do, you will need a Phillips screwdriver.
