Anyone ever check and adjust their engine alignment? My alignment tool goes in pretty hard on starboard side. Have to hit it in with my palm. It did get a new coupler and bravo 3 last year. Wondering if i should even mess with it. I didn't have any vibrations or anything like that.

Just read that the gimbal bearing might not be set right either? Your supposed to hit the alignment bar after you insert it at 9, 12,3 6 o'clock Will try that first.

My engine was out of alignment from the factory. The misalignment caused my coupler to self destruct.

When the engine was reinstalled after replacing the coupler it was properly aligned. This required raising the forward part of the engine a inch or so, plus shifting it to the port side. They used several pieces of thick aluminum stock between the stringers and the motor mounts to raise it up. The mechanic had a bitch of a time getting the alignment right because it was so far off.

I would suggest that if you got a new coupler there is no reason for the engine to be misaligned now. It should be been perfectly aligned as part of the repair.
