Re-powered w/Marine Power 5.7L Sportpac Vortec Carb (290 HP ea)
w/ZFHurth V-Drives
I have a 97 Sea Ray 330DA that was re-powered before I bought the boat. It has Marine Power 5.7L Sportpac Vortec inboards with ZFHurth V-Drives. These have analog gages and alarms, not the newer electronics controlled engines. The engines only have about 100 hrs on them now and they are running great. However, I have noticed that when I start either engine that I do not have any alarms that chime as would be expected. Looking through the electrical schematic from Sea Ray, there are three things that trip the engine alarms, Low Oil Pressure, High Water Temp, and High Transmission Temp. However, neither engine alarm chimes. I bought new alarm buzzers and replaced the OEM buzzers behind the dash, but it still did not fix the issue. I am going to double check that I wired the alarms correctly. Also, I did just replace a damaged Low Oil Pressure Switch on the port motor. I damaged it while crawling around in the bilge. No changes there, as far as the alarms are concerned. Other than that, I am at a loss as to what else to check. Any ideas?
