An alarm (beep) has recently gone off on my systems monitor on my 2001 410 Express Cruiser (Horizon 370 HP gas Mercruisers) indicating check starboard engine. All gauges are normal and no visual signs of any issues (no signs of overheating). I turn off starboard engine and alarm goes off; restart and stays off for another 30 minutes of running, and goes back on (sometimes does not go back on). The number/type of beeps on Mercruiser alarm schedule I believe denotes a transmission heating issue, but no evidence of same. Anyone have a similar problem? diagnosis? Thanks.Walt

You can confirm a transmission overheat by shooting it with an IR temperature gun. Doubt that's for real since it sounds like it goes off and you haven't even left the dock. There's a sensor for transmission temp. Could be that it's bad or failing??
