Is it CRS Board policy to give out members email addresses to advertisers or sponsors?

I got an email solicitation from NBOA and I can think of only one place they could have gotten that information...from CSR.

Just curious.

I can think of another reason:

2004 200 Select
MCM 5.0 Liter MPI
Alpha I

CSR info is not even given to my company BOE Marine so I really doubt it will be given to other companies. So your answer is NO! But I bet because you are a boat owner they got your info that way, the same as we do at BOE Marine when doing mass mailers or mass marketing.

I got the same email from NBOA...first one ever... owned boats since '93.

Are you part of the Sea Ray Owners Club????? That's how they got my info

The SR Owner's club is a marketer who pimps members names as part of a list they sell. If you registered with your email address, that is how they got your contact info.

You might try opting out of marketing from them, but that's their business so I doubt it will work.

FWIW I have both my Sea Ray and jet ski insured by NBOA. Their rates are the cheapest I have found, and I have previously insured with several companies including Boat US. Last year I had a claim on my jet ski for accidental injestion of a foreign object, and they paid the claim quickly and with no problem. Plus their premium includes towing. I am very happy with them.

I guess you could say they came with my boat in 04, I have stayed with them, have got quotes from others and they still have the best price. I have not had a claim but have never heard anyone speak bad about them.

Frank,
Not true. The SROC doesn't give out emails--I checked. They've sent me an email on behalf of someone, but I didn't get anything direct from that company. (I work in marketing so I pay attention to that stuff.)

I got a newsletter last week and an email invite to a local boat show before that. Sometime around Christmas I got a 40% off deal from Sebago shoes (we bought a few). But they came from the SROC direct or from the company that does Sea Ray's web stuff.

I didn't get the NBOA email, but I also have my insurance with NBOA and am happy ($300 less than the next closest quote).
