Any one have any referrals/recommendations on a good place to do a full electronics upgrade on the west side of Lake Michigan between Chicago and Green Bay. Looking for knowledgeable pros to advise on integrated system components complete through installation.

Today, the options are endless and a lot are plug and play. That said......what do you want to do? The answer may be looking at you in the mirror. You save a ton of money and you can always get ahold of the installer to scream at him when something breaks.

I'm trying to gather up some options for a friend of mine. He wants to motor in drop it off and pick it up when it's done.

I know you are asking about a particular shop in your area. Regarding the equipment, have you been following the solid state radars in the past 6 months? A lot of interesting stuff coming out, including Doppler, coupled with solid state. The Simrad Halo open array has my current vote, but I am seeing how the reviews for the other systems, including Raytheon and Furono, and I believe Garmin as well fairly soon

Woody on the Raymarine web site they give you access to installers. I would think the others would do the same but I'm not sure.

Now if if he or you have a good and trusted Marine service company they might do it for him. Or at least recommend someone there that can.

Easy boat ride across the lake to North Shore Marina in Grand Haven. They do it all and well. New electronics do not fit in the old openings on the helm so that will have to be redone as well. My boat looks like it just came out of the Tiara factory as the entire helm station was redone to make the new displays fit into openings that did not match. You would not know things were changed out. TV down below, same thing. That is all teak on my boat and the fit and finish is like new from the factory. NSM marina is a certified installer of Ray Marine. BTW, you will have minor issues that need to be trouble shot, but they stay on the job until things work perfectly.
