I'm in the process of purchasing a 2000 Amberjack 290 and was hoping to upgrade the electronics a bit at the same time. Problem is the boat is 7 hours away and I can't measure the dash for fitting a display. Does anyone know what the max dimensions this year model 290AJ will allow? I'd like to squeeze a Raymarine C120 on the dash and move the RL70C to the left of the gear controls.

Thanks for any help!

Well...I bought the boat. And since I changed my email addie and the boat name (to honor my father's last boat) I changed my login too. I used to be "SeaKing Sanity" and I appreciate the dash shot. I ended up stealing a radar/chartplotter package for $1275. It included a RD214, RL70 Plus, Tri-Data, and a DSM25 with all relevant cabling. I also bought an A60 to boot. The plan is to replace the Sl760 flush with the RL70, remove the Loran/GPS stock unit and move the VHF to that location, mount the A60 where the VHF was and setup a an auto-pilot in the tri-data spot. Whew...work is cut out for me.

I'm still thinking of a 12 inch unit....looks like you bent the mouting bracket for yours. How did that work???

Seems fine the 2 years I have owned it, previous owner did the electronics.

I have a Garmin 5212 just fits looks and woks great
