I a newbie to boating and boat ownership. After placing my 240 DA in my yard I wanted to turn on the electrical system to familiarize myself more with the boats systems. Power appears to be going to the cabin lights, lower courtesy lights, the red and green bow lights, and trim control appear to have power from the battery. It there any other electronics or mechanics that should be power? is there an ACC switch like in car?

Some boats do have an "accessories" or "electronics" switch on the helm or breaker on the panel that provides power to a group of things like chartplotter, marine radio, depthsounder and similar electronics. Hard to say if the installer actually wired into that circuit though, as there are some folks that would rather have stuff on their individual circuits.

Thanks for the reply. I'll keep looking and poking around.

Got it! I appreciate your answer. Here's dumb question #2: The boat stereo has no power. Is there another switch to supply power from the battery. or does it only work if the engine is running.

Turning the key clockwise worked the radio turn on and I'm guessing other systems were activated. Thanks again Mitch
