I've got a 454 cu in engine with a carburetor , that I have had to replace the mechanical fuel pump twice in 5 years . the arm gets flatten out then the cam doesn't engage the arm . I'm deciding to replace it with an electric pump. Has anyone done this before? I'll need to get a plate to close up the mechanical fuel pump opening and then install the electric pump.

Any ideas or thoughts?

Thanks,

Steve

get the blockoff plate and a gasket, use the bolts to hold the new bracket for the pump. a double flaring kit and a section of 3/8 ths steel brake line ,the fuel pump pressure switch, a 20A cube relay, some wire, sealant, and connectors. a pressure port can be a "T" at the oil pressure sender or a "T" at the no oil alarm switch just above the oil filter on the engine, power for the pump during cranking is from the outer small lug on the starters solenoid,
