Electric Anchor on bow

How did you get the wiring to the back of the boat? Was there a channel down the side to fish it, or did you have to drill holes?

also, does it integrate with the plywood cover? :)

Shackles would not fit. The slot was built for a padlock. There is always a lot of concern about theft at a fishing marina. These fishers have a whole culture built on freebees from the sea. Don't till, don't herd, aren't educated, invent crackpot religions and accept donations. Yea, probably thieves to boot.
OMG, what a sad story. I feel for you.

In our experience, our fishing marinas and vacation spots are the safest places around. We all leave our poles and tackle out and exposed, nobody takes their fishfinders and VHFs when the leave, and half the people even leave their keys in the ignition.

I realize that there are nefarious people everywhere, but us locals tend to take care of each other.

Please tell us specifically where you boat so we know to not ever go there.

On port side, wiring ran back from anchor locker to bow storage w/o drilling till I got to firewall at passenger's feet. Then came up to channel just under gunnel and back through to battery in engine compartment. Running 4 connector plug on starboard side was more difficult as builder had been more liberal with super caulk. Luck, ingenuity and stubborn resolve unsuited to my diminishing years helped with wiring.
Just put a compass in as I hate those moments when I must mentally shrink myself and stand in the center of the imaginary compass rose. However, my bluewater ambitions are fading. It's not that I couldn't do it but..........

Washington, DC!
The sole industry is stealing from the rest of the country. They look normal during the day but reveal themselves to be predatory animals in the evening.

I'm located in a covered slip on Lake WA now. The Minn Kota anchor on the bow works great. If I want to stop and talk or gawk, I just push the "down" button under the dash. Of course, I push the "up" button to leave. The mushroom anchor does bring mud and weeds back to the dock but there is a hose. Years ago, I should have had one of these. A girlfriend and I were passing the time while tied up to a buoy. We finally looked up and Mercer Island cops were spectating. They demanded I untie from "their" buoy. They did have the courtesy not to interrupt although it would have been better if I had my own anchor.
