E-BAY 1999 290 SEARAY $11000.00 Buy it Now

I wouldn't enter any personal information on that site. Its not really eBay. Look at the hostname.

wow, those scamers are getting pretty good.

What is weird is if you go to Ebay, enter 1999 Sea Ray 290 and then click on the link it redirects you to the same posting.

Not at first. Look at the URL in your status bar while hovering over the link. That is where you are supposed to go. The guy then has a refresh/redirect that automatically takes you to his bogus domain. People do this all the time phishing for credit cards.

I repeat, do not enter any info on this item or any other item from that URL. Change the last digit in the Item ID in the URL, and you can see some of their other bogus items, all with low 'buy me now' prices. Items 'too good to be true.'

Also, if you hit 'stop' right away on the original page, before it refreshes to the phishing site, the item does not have a buy it now button. Only a bid button.

Just got this
You have chosen to block this Web site and have been redirected by the McAfee Phishing Filter. The Web site you requested is in our list of sites that are potentially trying to obtain unauthorized confidential information.

Looks like McAfee is paying off again

Thanks Guerk, was just wondering how it was working. Not going to enter any information. Thanks again for explaining.

It sounded like such a good deal I just wanted to get my point across. I wouldn't wish identity theft on anyone.

Its amazing people go through these steps to rip people off. The graphics, the layout, the entire application built around fraud. Crazy.

Looks like A good lesson for ebay users!!!!!!!!! :smt017

This was the message that my McAfee Anti Virus software gave me when I clicked on that linked:

I reported it last night, it's been removed

This listing (270150274699) has been removed or is no longer available. Please make sure you entered the right item number.

I don't have a screen capture of what it looked like. But, they redirect your web browser by inserting javascript that refreshes to a new URL. By default I do not believe eBay allows javascript, but there are ways around everything.
