Hey Football Fans. We are hosting MNF tonight. We are also expecting believe it or not 3-9 inches of rain today and tonight. I know...I know, Seattle is known for rain, but this is not what are used to. If we have a rainy day it's more like drizzle all day or week long...maybe 1/2-3/4 of an inch. 3+ inches is crazy. We will have floods by later today and the nation gets to watch only the 3rd game with precipitation at Qwest Field.

See you later tonight. GO HAWKS!

Yep, I saw the forecast, glad I will be watching in the comfort of my home. Stll horse from yelling at the Ravens game all day yesterday.

Do you go to the Seahawks games

It appears that Seattle will need to emphasize the SEA in Seahawks tonight. Everyone who voted for an open air stadium in Seattle should be required by law to attend tonight!

The weather is a bit crazy today. Here I am 200 miles inland from Portland and Seattle. It is 75 degrees outside right now! Very unusual.

Todd,

If you put a carriage return before the URL, then the line with the URL won't be so long and won't require us to scroll back and forth to read the messages.

Water polo in Seattle tonight???

Take care. I have a brother, sister, and two cousins in Bremerton. They will probably be washing away tonight.

Geez Todd, I'll take a few May Flies over 9" of rain or drizzle any day. SBW

It was an OK game. Hawks won, but I thought Art Shell was going to cry in the interview after the game. I almost felt sorry for him.

I think all football games should be played outside. Weather SHOULD be a factor in football. It neutralizes passing and the wind makes passing and field goal kicking a little trickier. Playing indoors where it's 65 degrees and no wind? What's the point? I remember playing in the mud, snow and rain and none of those will ever happen inside! That's half the fun!

Amen, and never ever feel sorry for the Raiders.

And SBW, I'll take 12 inches of rain over may flies......

Todd, sorry, I was not clear. And you would not have seen the screen scroll, as it was something I caused. I am using Firefox, and I had used CTRL+ to make the fonts larger so I could read them easier. This made them take more screen space and caused the horizontal scrolling I saw. I was surprised when I went back to the same post later and it did not scroll.

But it's maybe still worth pointing out what can cause the screen to be forced to scroll sideways. If you make a post that contains a single word that is longer than will fit in the display space available, then Firefox will make the web page automatically wider to display the word. Then you will have a scroll bar at the bottom of the screen to let you scroll sideways to read the writing.

This happens because the web browser does not want to break a single word across two lines. A single word to the browser is a bunch of characters that contains no spaces or line breaks. So this is a single word
tickets.....http://images.ibsys.com/sea/images/weather/auto/radar_640x480.jpg?1162843892192

but this is two words

tickets..... http://images.ibsys.com/sea/images/weather/auto/radar_640x480.jpg?1162843892192

The only thing different is that I added a space between the ..... and the URL. That lets the browser wrap the URL to the next line if it needs to instead of forcing a wider screen.

Now I feel REALLY old....Don't know what a carriage return is??????
:smt024 Do you remember typewriters and the bell that sounded when you were at the end of the carriage??? This is too funny. :smt024

Yeah, you could actually grind gears when you accidently let go of the carriage release to fast

Try that with a puter

Back to football. I've heard the University of Tennesee plays football in a river front stadium, and football weekends are pretty much a giant SR raft with people tailgating, watching the game on TV and listening to the roar of the crowd. That would be a great way to enjoy football. SBW

Here is a picture of the TN Vol navy on game day.

Got it off www.tnriver.com site.

When we lived in Seattle, we used to go to the Husky (UW) games by boat. They have a horse shoe shaped stadium that opens to the water. It was great.
