I have a 1998 290 sundancer with the original dual throttle controls. Is there a way to adjust the throttle cable on them at the motors? Seems like i have to push forward too far for it to start giving gas. And 1 of them is a little off from the other. I replaced both the shift cables thus year and know there fine. Any help would be great

Can’t help with the adjustment but I’ll find the quicksilver manual later and send it, it might have adjustment instructions

Curious about your cables, do you mean you replaced the 4 cables from the shifters to the motor? If so can you send me the part numbers or lengths? I want to do ours, they’re really stiff

Have the manual but says nothing about adjusting. Figured it. Be at the motor side. I did not replace the throttle cables. Only replaced the shift cables. From motor to drives

IMG_4230.JPG The cables are adjustable but your profile does not say if you have I/Os or inboards. My straight inboards were easily adjustabie at the helm control. Removing the trim piece exposed the friction adjustments for the amount of pressure required to move the throttles, as well as the holes the linkage attached to. This allowed the cable to travel more or less distance depending on what hole it was in. If you are unsure of how to make changes, I'm sure a local mechanic could adjust them for a small fee.
