Hey guys I'm trying to replace impellers on my 280 twin 4.3s but its on a dock. I called hurricane cove and they want about $500 to sit in on a dry dock for a couple of hrs which I see very expensive.

Does any one know of a place I can rent a lift or a trailer or even a cheaper dry dock ???

try going to a dry stack like keystone marina on 135th......buy gas while your there.......ask them to fork lift you out and put you in a work rack for an hour.......do this during the week when they're not busy.....I bet someone like that would do it inexpensively.....if you are looking at places to haul it with a travelift instead, make sure you tell them you just want a "short haul" where they leave it in the slings while you work.......might as well change the zincs and wash the bottom while you're at it.....

If all, else, fails you can try calling a boat hauler and asking him to pull you out for an hour or so at a ramp, swap the impellers, and drop you right back in.

I've never been more nickeled-and-dimed at marina than I was at Keystone. That was 3 years ago though. Have they changed?

Ive never been nickeled and dimed by Keystone - but you may be thinking of their tenant Miami Marine Specialists - their work seems really good, but you will pay, pay, pay......
