Service manager at Mmax told me i should drain the reservoir and heat exchanger of antifreeze because it will end up in the bilge. He says the gourmets the heat exchanger sits in shrink in the cold and the antifreeze leaks out. this is on a closed loop engines like the 496 or 8.1's

anybody else heard of this before?

If you are talking about the ethylene glycol coolant in teh closed cooling systems of the Horizon engines, you know the pnk stuff. DON'T drain it. Mercuiser states that it should be changed every five years and replaced with DEX cool.
The beauty of the horizons besides the lack of corrosion in the engines is that you don't need to winterize teh entire engine, jsut strainers, pump and heat exchanger plus the vernalift mufflers I guess ...
