I'm trying to rig up my new to me 260da for some trolling for salmon but mostly rainbow trout. I want transfer both my two elec scotty down riggers from my old 21 ft boat.
Im trying to keep the gunnel set up as clean as possible while riggers removed and are stored.
I intended to remove the factory perko rocket rod holders and locate scotty base to cover hole.
My dilemma is the base..scotty base plate is 5.5 x5.5 inches
That base is about 1 inch wider than the gunnel at that location due to radius edge. So either indoard or outboard some of the base would be a catching hazard to passengers or rub on the camper canvas outboard. So a permanent mounting of the base is not my prefered choice.
I also want to be able to mount my BBQ off either gunnel.
I found a system made by Burnewiin specifically the GM650 mount along with required number of um6080, sc1036..
And possibly the bq6600 mount
This system Seems to check all my required boxes
Solid ss, clean look when not used, versitile..
Have Any CSR members either installed on thier boat or familiar with this make.?

Not familiar with that, but this is what I had in my old 24ft boat. (Zoom in to see better) It was a steel plate with a 90 degree bend that essentially increased the surface area of the gunnel enough to mount the Scotty base plate. It did infringe into the cockpit (a little) but I never caught anything on it or even thought about it. I had a full camper back on this boat.

On my 330Da I installed 30 degree rod holders in the gunwales. Then bought walker downrigger rod holder mounts and drilled them to fit the Scotty bases. Worked like a charm and are removable. I now have Walker electric downriggers, but the same set up. Here is an old picture of the manual ones.

Different model (330EC) with substantially different gunnels, but flush mount rod holders are the way to go, if you can make them work.

One word of caution, don’t skimp on the flush mounts. Get a quality rod holder. This boat has Lee’s. My last rig had Smith’s. I’d recommend either. Some of the cheaper ones are built with tack welds and will not hold up.
