I'm curious to hear thoughts and opinions on a door to the forward cabin in a cruiser, in this case a 37'. I've never had a door on any of my cruisers. I found one I really like that has a door. We don't need the privacy, it's just the two of us. I like the open feel of the cabin with no door, but I also see the value of having a door.

Too small of a boat for a door, in my opinion. It was an option on my boat and I wouldn't have bought one with it.

I have a door on the master of my 360 and wouldn't do without it.

Sometimes you need privacy to change, dress after a shower or "whatever".

We have a door on our 360DA and also feel it closes in the cabin somewhat. We don’t close it at night because we haven’t needed the privacy but it is convenient to have as Soulshine said for changing and dressing.

I'm also an early riser where the Admiral sleeps like a stone on the boat.

At the dock the cockpit faces east so the closed cabin door keeps the sun out. I can putter, have coffee and whatnot without her even knowing I'm up.

When the admiral first stepped foot on a 37 sundancer she liked the door. Guess what we’re looking for.

I didn't think about this, makes a lot of sense.

I like my doors. We can shut them so we can watch tv when the kids have gone to sleep.

Last boat didn’t have doors - just a hatch for the cabin and a curtain around the convertible berth. I like the doors better.

I guess it depends on the layout.

Mine lines right up with the companionway. The 2 doors and the sun are perfectly aligned.

We like the 380 having a door, this morning I shut it so my wife could sleep in as I prepped stuff and cooked breakfast. Ours is a slider, which is 90% of the time latched open

We have the curtain, which is useless. I'd like a door especuially if it was a pocket door.

When it comes to the door, I'd rather have it and not need it, vs need it and not have it o_O
