Door not latching

The door for the stereo cabinet, cooler closes fine, when you open it to close off the bow the door doesn’t lock open like it used to. You have to slam it and still sometime it doesn't latch.

Is there an adjustment except for drilling new holes for the latch?

You'll have to look at it closely to see what the problem is where the door latch meets the catch. Also, check to be sure all the screws are tight on the hinge(s). A lot of times that can cause misalignment if they are loose.

I had a similar problem with the transom entry door on my 260DA which I think has the same mechanism as you have on your door. It would latch open OK but wouldn't latch closed properly. A bit of silicone spray on the door latch itself helped for awhile but eventually I had to adjust the door a bit to get it to hit the catch properly. After that it was fine.

i've had the same problem recently in my 220 select.

it's almost like the boat shifts or something because it will work perfectly some days and others not so much.

the last thing i want to do is drill any holes or relocate the latch.

I checked all the screws and rubber stopers. I even took the top and bottom stopper off and still it didn't work correctly.
I really don't want to drill new holes

is your radio under the helm? I tried to look at the archives but didn't see anything. Based on what your saying is sound like it is under the helm. What is the possibility that the latch itself is not moving properly? maybe a little crud in it or too much friction to move as far as it should. try lubricating the latch and see if that helps!

So I get the boat to take pictures of the latch and the door now works fine.

I guess the gremlins were at work
