Twin Cummins 480 Zeus
please fill me in on the downsides of what i'm planning to set up -
it's on a 2007 290 that has twin 5.0's. the boat has tons of power and is really fast, very quick on plane, so i'm not worried about weight on stern (am i correct?)
1. adding an extended swim platform from swimplatforms, inc.
2. liking the dinghy ramp from nautley to install on the back of the extended platform (so transom is still usable
3. i like the mercury hypalon 280 RIB with the 8hp merc 4-stoke (i'm about 150 and wife is barely 100 pounds)
any problems? i want dinghy to be pretty fast and usable to run around and easily stored.

Sounds like a great plan to me - i have a 300 (much heavier boat) with the same engines and i carry a 10'2" avon rib and honda 9.9 (225lbs) with little to no affect on performance

Richie, your plan should work well. Let's see some pics of you having the swim platform and davits mounted and then of you two using the dinghy. Good luck with the project. It will be fun.

Should be great, we have a Nautley ramp and Mercury Hypalon 280 and both are fantastic. Good luck, am sure you will have a lot of fun:)
