Hi guys.

Am really confused about my boat and spare parts. I have a 240 DA from 2002, with a 5.0l MPI engine. When I check the engine number it says it should be a high pressure fuel pump. When I then hit the pump's number it says it is a low pressure pump. What is right?

Should i have a High pressure pump or Low pressure pump??? Every page a read at says different (se attach pic this side says low pressure
for example)

Engine no: 0M357786
Stern drive no: 0M149091
Transmission : 0M530774

Fuel pump no (that is in boat now) : 861155-2 / 1132-A
According to all spare parts dealer this is a low preassure pump.

Can anyone advice what it should be?

/Mike

CF3 has a high and a low, CF2 has a high only. All mpi engines need a high pressure pump

What's the issue ?

Ok, but according to my No on the pump it is a low pressure pump (861155-2) is the no on the pump and according to that it will be low pressure, with threads in the brass / thinner part of the pump.

So i don´t get it should i buy a low pressure or high??? really confusing.

So, I haven't messed with a similar boat fuel system, but I had a dual fuel pump system on one of my cars. That used a low pressure/high flow pump at the tank to get the fuel up to the engine, then a second engine driven high pressure pump that pushed the pressure up near the injectors.

Sounds like Scoflaw can better point you in the right direction, but here's what I found looking at the Mercury parts catalog for your serial number:

The one you are pulling the part number off of appears to be #14 here:

There is also #3 here:

If you have a MPI or EFI you need a high pressure pump housed in a cool fuel unit, a low pressure boost pump is sometimes added. The low pressure pumps are also used for carb applications
If the pump your replacing by the fuel sep (boost)or under the port front mount (high pressure)
According to your serial number ,your engine has both
