Don't Feed the FDucks

We feed the marina ducks all the time with bread & cookies.
They always come back the following year with their baby ducks .
I wouldn't take that article to heart. :smt021

This guy wanted some coffee and a donut. How could you turn down a face like that. ... We did, now I feel guilty!

I agree with the article. In fact on our lake it is a 250.00 fine for feeding the ducks. They crap all over the place and spread disease....whats so cute about that?? The only good they are is alongside a nice orange sauce.

after cleaning duck crap off our swim platform most of the winter i have to agree with you groucho.:smt009

DOWN WITH THE DUCKS!

The one downside to an extended swim platform is more ducks can get on it and with more ducks comes more duck poop.

Every weekend before we could go out I had to clean and scrub the platform. I finally had a cover made that snaps under the aft canvas and goes down to the outside of the platform. Keeps the ducks off and prevents the transom from losing its shine and protects the boat name.

Now if I could just keep the stupid owl from crapping on the side of the boat. Owl crap make duck crap look like water.

Have you tried mylar strips tied up high over your boat? That might help the birds and maybe owls...

I'm working on it Ken. We haven't been down as much as we would like. I travel a lot for work and getting to the marina this summer has been tough. I am currently in Delaware and will be home at noon on Friday. I am hoping to spen the weekend at Oxbow. If you are out cruising come by.
