If I considered buying a boat with a Kohler generator I'd deduct the coast of a replacement generator from the price of the boat. They are worthless.

As I write this I’m replacing my old gas Westerbeke with a new Phasor diesel unit. Safer diesel, permanent magnet generator, Kubota powered.

Not sure about Koehler, but buying gas generators is becoming difficult. Westerbeke only offers one, and it was more expensive than the Phasor. Plus Westerbeke is predatory on parts and pricing, and basically make throw away units.

No battery switch on gen and when I turned the gen off at the gen control panel (on the Gen) I got endless alarms from gen starting device in the cabin.

Crazy to think Gen starting with no blowers at random. Standby logic is stupid.

MMax is heading out to remove the standby logic in the programming.
