Hi
Im considering moving my boat from lindenhurst to bayshore?? I live in commack and trying to get closer. I love taking the family to ceader beach. Have to sneak in due I don't live in area. I heard so many great thing about going to fire island but where? Can you get a slip for a day?? If you don't live in area??
any input would be appreciated

thanks

Ocean Beach is great... Lots of restaurants and stores, ice cream etc... and Kismit is also nice... Great food and beach, that's about it...both are great for the day.... Both family friendly...

If it's just you and the Mrs and your open minded... Go to the Pines... You'll have a blast and it's by far the nicest Marina in fire island... Just be open minded....

Capt Bills is a very safe marina area. Heading over to the Pines, Ocean Beach and Atlantique are awesome. There is no recips that I am aware of but its been years since I last was moored in Bay SHore... Kismet is a blast all the time...

If you travel a little east you also have Davis Park & Watch Hill. Both marinas charge $2 a foot and $7 or so for electric. Davis has a nice restaurant, bar & store. The walk to the beach is short. The marina will rock though if you get a north/northwest wind. Watch Hill is quieter with a restaurant, tiki bar, snack bar & SMALL store. The walk to the beach is longer and the mosquitos can be ruff, especially at sunset. The marina is well protected and very family friendly. You may encounter a fair share of intoxicated individuals at Davis Park.

Is Kismet a town dock? What are the rates over there? Every time I've been by there it was packed.

I think it's $60 for the day but you get $40 back in the restaurant... $120 over night and you get $100 back... I may be wrong...

Food at Surfs Out is awesome.... Good Service... And they normally have a band or something going on...

Easy trip from Bayshore too...

Thanks for all the input... Is their any other marinas in the area??? How is Capt Bill prices??? I have been used to staying behind a residential home and paying 1500 for the season. I can go anytime and do any kind work on the boat. Thanks Again

Give Burnetts a try , same area as Capt Bill's, directly across from the town dock in Bay Shore. It will be well over 1500 however, I was there in the 90's, much more private and better overall feel than Capt Bills.

Besides Watch hill and Davis all the marinas mentioned are much closer to Lindenhurst than Bayshore I believe. My boats there also and we travel to Davis, 35 mins. Atlantique forget about it until after Labor Day there's Seaview for $250 a night small gated and 3 min walk to rest, bars, stores

Maple Ave Marina is right next to the Ferry terminal. The guy that I bought my boat from kept it there, not the best spot in my opinion. Which marinas have you contacted and what is their price per foot? My office is move to Bay Shore next summer and I'm thinking of moving the boat there. My main requirement is a floating dock.

I haven't contacted anyone yet. Was thinking possibly going AYC I'm in residential cannel and its kinda trashy lol. My fiancée hates bringing her friends their were in corner house backyard at a dead end. I just know im not going to beat the price of 1500 for the year including electric. I went to the yacht club at the end of the sunken meadow. I cant remember the name now but their prices were insane 1500 to become a member than its 87 a foot plus you have to spend 200 a month on food from them. I live in Commack and take sunken meadow for a ten min ride on Montauk hy going west. would mind going east.

Like I said we live near you and keep the boat at AYC pretty good bang for your buck. It takes me 25 mins to get there. They're putting in wifi , redoing the pool area , cameras . Redoing the bocce' courts (Sandy damage) we thought of leaving a few times but like it too much. 10 min ride east and I'm passing the Robert Moses bridge. 45 mins to most FI marinas for us. If you want prices pm me and I'll tell you what I'm paying. Good luck

small world ..... I'm actually two canals west of ayc now. I'm in the cannel that has the old navy boat listing on the side. so it takes you about 45 to reach fi. I try to sneak into ceder a lot but its been getting harder I heard you can go to the town of Babylon and get a non resident sticker. Ill PM you tonight. I was thinking of calling capt bills to get their prices. Getting married in April so cant go too nuts this year...
