Just purchased a 2006 290DA and connected dockside water to dockside water inlet. When water at dock is turned on I get two jets of water coming out of the holes beside the hose connection. It is not leaking from hose connection as in not tightening hose enough, it is definitely coming out these two holes. Fresh water pump circuit breaker is not turned on. Anyone have suggestions?

It's broken. Get another one.

Either what FC1 said. Or could you have very high water pressure at the dock and the excess pressure is bleeding out those holes? If it happens at any pressure then yep it's broken. If it stops when you turn down the water then you might have put excessive pressure on it... I know at our old marina the pressure was unreal...

Take Care!

Is this something a boat owner with handyman skills can replace or does it take a mechanic. I know the shore power plug is on the same bulkhead panel, so I would remove shore power and turn off all breakers before attempting any repairs.

The dockside water inlet is connected to a square plastic plate (maybe 4" x 4") and is connected to the bulkhead plate with four screws. I removed the screws but the square plate would not move much. I did not try to force it out because I am not familiar with what is behind this panel. Should this inlet and plate pull out for replacement?

After removing the four screws I tried to pull out the dockside water inlet panel, but it would not budge. However, I was able to reach the back side of the panel (Jabsco city water regulator) by removing the transom shower panel on the opposite side of the bulkhead. The back side of the regulator had a brass tee connected to the regulator and the fresh water spigot above it...you would not have been able to pull it through the other side. I unscrewed the fitting and the regulator fell out. Now a trip to the Ship Store and I think my problem will be fixed. Thanks for all the replies.
