Docking by your lonesome

I tangled bow rails with my slip neighbor, the first day I had the boat, while the delivery captain was showing me how to back in the slip. Thankfully my neighbor wasn't there and no damage was done. I told him about weeks later after a few.

I take the Four Suns out alone all the time... I find it is easier to undock/dock than the 20' ski boat I have because the mass just doesn't move with the wind, etc. like a smaller boat.

I've never hit anyone or hit the dock but I have had people hit me a few times... not pleasant. However, I did forget to unplug the 50 amp cord once and ripped the power tower off the dock. The power tower was no match for the diesels. Didn't even jerk the boat or slow it down.

My next boat is going to make a docking sissy out of me.

Right now, I have a 14' slip and a 13' beam.

For the new boat, smaller slips weren't available, so for a time being, I'll be in an oversized 60x19 slip, with a beam of 15'.

I won't be afraid at all to put into that slip. When I travel, I'll probably have to rent oversized slips, because I'll lose my touch!
