My son built one with his classmates as a fifth grade project and WOW what a project! They got to launch it and all got a chance to take a ride in it on its maiden voyage. On top of that, in sixth grade they got to take a 4 day canoe trip with it and the others made before it by other classes and it was a memory for him that will last a lifetime! Man, I wish I would have had that kind of opportunity as a child!

I'd read about this(I'm into early american history), and a long time ago, saw a very poor scratchy documentary on how it was done, but this video was great. Loved the end result! The number of hours involved in doing this is crazy!
