do you need to flush the motor with a closed loop system?

If it were mine, I would flush it. As I understand it, you are still circulating salt water thru your exhaust risers and elbows as well as your heat exchager which are all subject to corrosion.

Well even over 40 you learn something everyday. Yesterday i learned to make sure you closed the battery enclosure/jump seat before pulling out of your low clearance garage. Crunch ah *!%#.

Today i'm hoping to learn how to flush a motor that has the closed loop system. I understand there are two pick-ups. The traditional leg pick-ups and the closed loop pick up. If i close the closed-loop valve does that force all the fresh water pick up through the leg? And, do i have to run the engine at the same time? - the closed loop was aftermarket and isn't covered in the book.

The closed loop doesn't have a hose hook-up although i suspect you can get one installed.

ps
is there a fiberglass repair forum?
