Do You Have An Adequate First Aid Kit?

I have no idea what the second line of you statement means other than wrong meds for situation. FYI The nitro tabs would only be as a backup for the ones my father carries. He is prescribed them and I don't pretend to know well enough to give them to someone else. So we are clear, I am in agreement with you and don't recommend giving out meds that aren't prescribed to said person.

That is exactly what it meant. Carrying backup is a great idea.

I have one on the boat at all time, I think there two kits actually.

Best one yet! Don't forget ice.... For the reduction of swelling and MORE IMPORTANTLY, for the scotch :)
Not if the Scotch is really good!

I picked up a case of this when I was in Pitlochry.scotch-blair12.jpg

I have this for boating emergencies such as a pirate boarding.IMG_20140416_193206_324.jpg

And I'm saving this one for the end of the world, or retirement. Circa 1960'sIMG_20140416_193125_888.jpg

Please be aware of the dangers in administration of nitrates due to "heart problems"

Had a patient almost die due to a neighbor thinking all chest pain is the same and gave one of her nitro tabs to a women with an active inferior infarct. Soething like that would require an increase in diastolic pressure and nitroglycerin causes the reverse effect.

There are 6 "Rights" of prescription administration. If you don't know them, don't give them.

So......professor
Would you please explain your theory of diastolic failure to the group

As I read through this thread I kept thinking how did you guys have kids or even get laid for that matter? "Wait honey, I have to make sure the condom hasn't expired or oh no, I think I need the smaller size" My god, yes carry a first aid kit on your boat. Make sure you keep it restocked and have what's needed. Someone who owns a 48 footer and travels half way around the world will need additonal items than someone with an 18 foot bowrider taking a crusie around the lake. This isn't brain surgery. Don't you keep a first aid kit in your house? Or at work? Of course you do. My god do you guys/gals overanalyze things.

I'm sticking with my Scotch, as recommended by some one else though, I might check the ice tray today, just in case............for a real emergency, my wife had her handbag.

Clearly none of you have ever rolled a condom down far enough to see the serial number and expiration date... :smt043

I beg to differ MM. I'm the one that stated you guys had to check the expriation date. Anyways, Happy Easter to all and hopefully we don't have to pull out our fully stocked first aid kit this weekend.

I think it's time to resurrect this thread...

Now that you mention it, it's about time for someone to post a thread about running a portable gas generator on their swimplatform too.......

How about a portable generator on the platform running out of fuel so you get into the First Aid Kit, Grab a mason jar of Moonshine thats Dual purpose to clean cuts for surgery and run the Generator.

We have a medical kit that has not seen the light of day for a few years now, so it probably cannot be tagged "adequate" until further inspection. However, I do have an a bell and an axe.
