I notice the new Sedan Bridge 52, which is essentially the replacement for the Sedan Bridge 48 is some 4000 lbs lighter on the dry weight. Have they changed hull technology or just cheapened the boat by 4000 lbs of resin and glass?

Seems the hull technology is secret until some disaster happens. I doubt they are perfecting the art of making the hull any thinner or weaker, especially after the highly publicized cored hull problems. Lots of things can account for 2 tons of weight in a 50' boat besides glass and resin.

They use less particle board....

I also think they saved a lot of weight on the bridge by not having the bigger/more fiberglass hard top.
