Do I want a Fusion?

My av 750 worked well with Bluetooth, I have my head unit inside cabin so if I walked towards the swim platform it kind of gets cut off , my installer said that if you want to use the Bluetooth all the way to the back of the boat I need a Bluetooth extension or auxiliary,
overall I was happy the way head unit performed ...

decided es to install a second remote control by swim platform ...

It sounds like we're getting the same bluetooth range, but have different expectations...

Did you connect the unit to WiFi? I have a floating, waterproof case for my phone. That would offer full control of sound from everywhere in the boat, or while floating around it.... I like the remote, but I can't get over the fact that they cost as much as most people pay for entire head units. (although after I bought mine, I understand that Fusion started including a long NMEA cable)

new Bluetooth device from Jl audio installed on helm solved range problem up to 35 ft, now I also have a router that I used with the fusion app and the range was up to 100 feet away from the boat, love it...

I have the AV 750 as well and love it. What router are you using?

I will get back to you on that, but any good brand wifi router would work well, i will let you know asap.

I'm using a pepwave router. I forget the model but I have a Verizon SIM and an AT&T SIM in it. It's been rock solid since installed and I love having both networks available. For instance, we are in Newport, RI today and tue Verizon coverage sucks but at&t is great. Tomorrow we will head to block island. Maybe Verizon will be better there.

it is a Tp link 12v Router that you can get for around $30 , love this feature... Just to clarify, this is not used to get interne, it is to have a network so you can control stereo with the Fusion app even if you are 100 ft from your boat on the water ...

Fusion has updated Fusion-Link with the feature of using bluetooth for remote control. However, even when my devices are close enough to the 750 to stream reliably, the remote app still won't work without WiFi.

Has anyone else had luck with it?

I have been streaming and using the app as a remote via Bluetooth on a ud750 I installed last weekend from my iPhone . I have not tried from any further away than about 10 feet. I do not have wifi yet and I have not done the latest firmware update. I will be doing both in the next few days.

I told tech support that I would upgrade the firmware and try again, but that didn't fix it, so I'll ask them for further suggestions.

If you have a remote, note that the update changes the setting for the remote back to "power off" from the 750. That caused a moment of panic for me after my update.

Can someone explain to me the wiring of Fusion 750 to wired remote? Finished installing today, and plugged in remove, and it did not control anything. I used wiring diagram in the installation manual. Wired remote just shows the device it is connected, but I cannot it to control anythink. Thanks!

If you connected the remote directly to the stereo, not the NMEA 2000 network, go to the settings and select the box for the NRX power.
There should be a check there to enable the stereo to supply power to the remote.
Also if you install the update make sure the remote is connected and powered before you start.
P.S. the manual that is sent with the stereo isn't as complete as it should be, at least with mine.
Go to their website and down load latest manual.
Dave.

The remotes in each zone are nice, but we find that using an iPad or iPhone to control the Fusion is much easier. You don't have to leave your seat and Bloody Mary to adjust anything.

lol! We put in a Fusion MS-IP700i along with the MS-DA51600 amplifier. We also replaced all the Clarion speakers with the Fusion speakers designed for high power sound. Lets just say I have yet to add the subwoofer and this stereo kicks butt@! Cannot wait to get out on the water and enjoy. Next weekend, it's happening! The bluetooth adapter allows you to control the stereo from your Apple or Andriod phone or tablet and when you tie that in with the Garmin Chartplotter I got I can set my waypoints from down below in bed each morning and then when I go to the helm they are already there and ready for me. I also installed the NEMA 2000 network so everything is tied together including the VHF radio. I think Fusion was the best option for us.

I just finished installing the newer Fusion MS-RA70 head unit and added the Fusion MS-FR6520 6-1/2" 200W 2-Way Speakers in the helm. So far, so good. The quality seems great and the Fusion-link app on idevices that you know everyone on board has with them made it a no-brainer for me.
