So this thread is quantified, Id like to discuss what about driving tees you off, what part do you enjoy, how do you feel others drive, what can we do to improve traffic....etc. ANything you want to throw in that has to do with driving automobiles, motorcycles, trucks on our roads...

I think probably the worst thing people can do when driving is not actively pass when driving in the left lane of a highway/expressway. If you are not passing the person to the right of you, you should be in that lane where people are driving your speed.
Left lane is STRICTLY for active passing (and I dont mean at 3 mph more than the people to the right of you...I mean you should be ACTIVELY passing at a good rate of speed), the middle lane is for cruising, the right lane is for slow traffic and those entering/exiting a highway.

If you see someone in your rear view mirror that is less than a couple of lengths behind you, you arent driving fast enough. My favorite is the driver who refuses to acknowledge that on a one lane highway there is NO ONE in front of them, but 7 cars behind them in a line.

I really hate it when I'm trying to eat when I'm driving and others want to get home and honk at me on the highway. Relax, there's a big mac in my hand and I'm on the phone.

Try all that while pulling your 240 Sundeck at 80mph through a construction zone.

People that don't use turn signals piss me off.

The horn is a useless device. All cars should have soft rubber bumpers so you can give the Jamaican doing 25 in a 40 a little nudge. We're not all on rasta time.

People coming off the on ramp and diving to the hammer lane at 40 mph in front of me and I am at 80 mph. There is one on ramp on my way to work that happens regularly. Plus all that has been mentioned.:smt014 :smt021 :smt013

and then they flip YOU off for being on their bumper!

One thing I've noticed around Tulsa, the larger the nascar # on their car/truck the more they tend to think they are in a nascar race home and love to draft or cut in close after passing. :smt009

Gotta go with Bill's comments, save for the one lane road, that's what passing is for. Fortunately I don't have to drive on one lane roads that often.

It's startling after spending a weekend on the boat to feel the transition in road stress when driving from Annapolis back to DC. Just as you hit the Bowie area things start ratcheting up. By the time we're on the Beltway it just gets insane with all the rice burners and other nitwits jumping all over the lanes. I'm all for 'making time' but that's just ridiculous.

Anyone in front of me when I'm driving a fire truck. People do the stupidest things when they see a big red truck with flashing lights and sirens.... let review. "pull to the right for sirens and lights":smt038 Seems simple to me but man I love driving those things:thumbsup:

Remember: "Stay right, pass on the left."
Works on the highways and the voting booth.

Best regards,
Frank C

I hate it when people pass and cut in front of you when they are 1/4 of a car length ahead of you. Don't they know that my truck and 30 foot boat don't stop as fast as they do? Then when you are trying to get on the freeway on ramp and everybody HAS to be ahead of you so they can go 45 mph down the road. I guess they don't expect a 30 foot boat to be going the 60 mph speed limit. Then as soon as you signal and move to the left lane to pass them, they find second gear and match your speed so your stuck in the left lane. I don't even bother to pass. I just follow them down the 60 mph freeway at 45 mph and make it look like they are my pilot car!

Fortunately I have the launch ramps to myself!
