Dining in Delaware?

dwna1a, ask your uncle if he knows Bert Long, thats my friend at the Overfalls. If you get up my way stop in and say hello, we can swap stories about old Sea Rays.

I think I met him once at the old ship. We are going to be up in Aug

Its about 20nm from inlet to inlet so in a decent planing hull, about an hour or so depending on your speed and sea state. Wind against tide can make the bay mouth choppy, but days with light south to south west winds make for nice conditions in my experience. Once you pass the outer breakwater in the Harbor of Refuge, the water is well protected by the walls and Cape Henlopen so the last few miles in are usually a piece of cake.

Its about an hour trip in good conditions, depending on your cruising speed of course. In a 340 I'd say around an hour +/-. Distance inlet to inlet is something around 20nm. I'd have to look at a chart to say exactly but thats a good ballpark.

schaeffers canal house. Marina is totally new and just opened up after a major overhaul.

Karen, if you guys head over this weekend, hail me on 16 "Summer Quarters", if I'm there, I'd be happy to say hello and have a brew with you at Eyes.

Go to Lewes... about 17 miles from the ferry terminal an CM Canal to Roosevelt Inlet, then short ride up the canal to downtown area. You can tie up at city docs and walk to many great restaurants in town. Or tie up at Irish Eyes across the canal and enjoy lunch on their deck.
