we are considering buying a small inflatable dinghy to be used primarily when we visit restaurants that don't have easily accessible large slips or if all the slips are taken.....l already have an electric trolling motor and and a new group 27 deep cycle battery to power it....

so the dinghy would only be used for a few minutes each time and only travel a short distance from the restaurant to the anchored boat...

what navigational lights (if any) would be required on the dinghy for this limited use.....

we would likely just secure the dinghy to the swim platform with ropes during transport which will be a slow cruise....

thanks....

You only need a white light on the stern or a flashlight.

We just use a flashlight... We carry life jackets and a cell phone... Nothing else... I've seen people using the cell phone as their light...

From page 11 http://www.ncwildlife.org/Portals/0/Boating/documents/VOG.pdf

I would say confirm with Lake authorities. My guess is you'll need lights.
