i am thinking about replacing the 2 way rocker switch that cotrols the 12VDC cabin lighting over the galley counter and overhead with a dimmer switch....has anyone done this and if so what dimmer switch did you use?

thanks....

That actually sounds like a great idea. Please let us know the results.

i'm sure i will come up with something....i'll post back when completed....we use dimmers all over our home and like being able to control the lighting level depending on the need....

We have dimmers on our 120v lighting, it is great to have. I think a dimmer is a dimmer is a dimmer. You should be able to Lowes etc and get one.

i agree that all dimmers accomplish the same thing but the little research i have done so far indicates that dimmers can be different depending on what power is running through them....some are for 120VAC and some are for 12VDC....then there are different dimmers for 12VDC LED lights......

I replaced my Vimar rocker switches with Vimar dimmers. They cost a flipping fortune, but it was worth it to me. I prefer the quality of light from a dimmed halogen over any LED I've seen.

I am looking to do the same, do you have the part# of the Vimar dimmer? Was it an easy install?
