Once assigned the MMSI number, how easy/difficult is it to wire the VHF to the GPS?

Thanks

Depends on the radio but it's pretty easy. There are basically three ways to do it. The first is the VHF will have a NMEA 0183 input on the radio and that has to get a feed from the NMEA 0183 output on the GPS. It's basically 2 wires. The second way to do it is with NMEA 2K and the third way is with SeaTalk. Both of those basically have special cords to hook into the current network bus/wiring system. SeaTalk would only be used if your radio and GPS are both Raymarine. Otherwise, you'll use either the NMEA 0183 or NMEA 2K method.
